An exhibition 'Les Trois Aquarelistes' was held in St Jean d'Angely in 2014 featuring the work of John Bateman, Armelle Delaplace and Michel Bertrand. In the exhibition John and Armelle had featured a theme of street scenes of St Jean d'Angely.
Upon seeing the exhibition the mayor commissioned John and Armelle to produce a book of paintings of St Jean d'Angely for sale in the tourist office. The book was published in 2016 and contains about 120 paintings.
